Salvation Army offers camping for local kids

Camping programs will continue through July 22 in the Wisconsin woodlands near East Troy at Camp Army Lake. Camp sessions are open to all children. Music Camp is designed for budding musicians who are 8 to 17 years old. The camp features small group instruction music theory choir and band practice and a concluding performance.

The Coconino National Forest has 675 campsites and officials believe most of them will be taken up during the Fourth of July weekend. In addition to traveling early forest service officials recommend campers be familiar with fire restrictions and other rules. -Keep pets on leashes at all times. Rabid animals have been reported recently in parts of Coconino County. -No campfires charcoal grills and stove fires are allowed on National Forest lands outside of developed recreation sites. -Smoking is only allowed within an enclosed vehicle or building a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area that is cleared of all flammable materials for at least three feet in diameter.
