ver the whole section those steps have withstood everything nature has thrown at them. The path winds through pleasant woodland emerging at the new dry composting toilet block of the Woonoongoora walkers camp. This is not yet open for overnight camping. Although the walk to Numinbah is easy and mainly downhill there are a couple of small uphill sections partly on the unsealed Chesters Road. For the last section the track veers back into open forest. We named this the "Golden rb Way" because every three or four metres there was another big spider web to tackle. Great Walk hikers coming from the west will overnight at Binna Burra then at the temporary Woonoongoora campsite in this section of Numinbah Forest Reserve… Anyone starting the walk from here to Springbrook National Park may have problems finding it as there there is no apparent signage. Not for unfit or inexperienced casual walkers this section covers varied and beautiful country. bscured around the future camping ground it is very much an adventure and deserving of the label Great Walk. These men and women also need our thanks and support. Last weekend we took our exchange sons to the Duluth Boat and Sports Show at the DECC. They were impressed with all the new boats trailers and camping equipment but I was surprised that we didn?t see a single tent! I wonder if people go camping with tents anymore? That always used to be so much fun when our kids were younger. Maybe we need to get back to the more basic camping and not have to spend thousands of dollars on big fancy rigs to have fun. And with the way gas is going up and up maybe we will have to do our camping right in our own back yards! Art Jauss was back in the hospital for a week but will be home by the time you read this. Get-well wishes go out to him as he recuperates for a couple of surgeries. Get-well wishes go out to Warren ja Lynn Groth and Wally Schulke… Last weekend we took our exchange sons to the Duluth Boat and Sports Show at the DECC.
