PUDUCHERRY: The annual training camp for army wing cadets of the National Cadet Corps concluded here on Tuesday. It was a unique experience for the youngsters who came from different educational institutions in the Union Territory. A total of 322 students including cadets in the rank of associate NCC officers staff and cadets from senior and junior divisions attended the camp which began on January 21 at Lawspet. Apart from getting regular training in the respective institution drill and firing quarter guards the cadets staged various cultural programmes too.

Tribe All but Vanishes From Kenyan City
FXNews – Jan 30, 2008
That means about 20000 people fled Kenya’s third-largest city leaving about 484000 people behind them. It is not known how many Kikuyus may have fled on their own but it is not believed to be much higher than 20000. Now only about 150 Kikuyus remain camping miserably opposite the police station for protection. No buses have been escorted out since Jan. 13 although murderous young men still stop vehicles searching for victims. dongo lamented that the only Kikuyus around were being guarded by police. The Kikuyus trickling into the camp by the police station in the last few days are the poorest of the poor as well as those with the strongest ties to the city.
Fan vs. wild

A little more fuss would have been nice. From inside the track looks almost tiny. There’s not even room for camping on the infield with dozens of haulers packed in like multicolored Russian cigarettes. I wander for a while and look at fans wishing I had money for one of Martinsville’s famous hot dogs. Neon pink smothered in chili and onions they’re a bargain at two bucks—but that’s two bucks more than I have. Hoping to at least get a picture of the dogs I walk up to a twentysomething Tony Stewart fan carrying a box of four. “Sir this will sound weird” I say.
