Bryce goes to camp
Charleston Post Courier – Sep 20, 2007
And to be perfectly honest I’m not quite sure what the big deal is. I mean people are always talking about how hard it is and how you need to be “prepared” and “not deliberately set forest fires” and other stupid stuff like that. Well I’m here to tell you that camping is a breeze. From locating the right firewood to determining the best spot to place your satellite TV antenna there’s nothing to it… Simply follow these life-saving tips and you’ll be calling Woodsie the wl and Smokey the Bear your “homeboys” in no time. The first thing you need to do when going camping is build a fire. To do this you’ll need some dry tinder waterproof matches and roughly 5 gallons of kerosene. However ? and the nice folks with the National Park Service were kind enough to share this particular tip with me ? you should try to avoid building it inside your tent. Speaking of which always bring a spare tent. Though I didn’t follow this golden rule myself I was able to survive using the raw instincts and determination that only an expert outdoorsman such as myself is capable of.
