All of the Grand River Conservation Authority’s twenty-seven hundred campsites are now reserved. Authority spokesperson Ralph Beaumont says the weather usually dictates how full the grounds are and this weekend the conditions are favourable. The Elora Gorge is enforcing a total alcohol ban and a leash policy for pets. Beaumont says all of their staff are on board for the long weekend and that the beaches trails and waterways will be full.

Public records show Amos 44 lived in the Kansas City area forseveral years after he was paroled successfully completing two yearsof court-ordered supervision. His last address there was in 2006. Authorities say Amos was camping in a remote area of the San IsabelNational Forest in Park County when he allegedly killed Alyssa HebertonMorimoto 24. Heberton Morimoto’s body was found late Tuesday in a shallow creek ashort distance from Amos’ campsite according to the arrest affidavit. Although authorities haven’t said whether she too was strangled agray-green strap was around her neck. Police said they found drag marks leading from Amos’ campsite to theJeep that Heberton Morimoto had parked nearby then to the spot whereher body was found partially hidden by tree branches. Amos denied seeing Heberton Morimoto or knowing her whereabouts theaffidavit states… search-and-rescue crews began looking for Heberton Morimoto. When they arrived at the site authorities said they found a pair ofwet shoes and wet jeans hanging out to dry near Amos’ tent. Amos told police he had been camping there alone for two or threedays. He said he left his campsite around 9 that morning and didn’treturn or see anyone else until he came upon Houck. He also pulled somepills out of his pocket telling officers he has Stage 3 cancer. People who were camping nearby told officers they heard what soundedlike gunshots or fireworks Tuesday morning. When officers found Heberton Morimoto’s body later that night theyalso discovered a rifle and a shoe print nearby the affidavit states.

Now the viper was letting us know that it was annoyed by the heat and the smell. The neighbors angry they couldn’t just take off on a camping trip with two kayaks on top of the vehicle like us were giving us the evil movie villain treatment. The vehicle’s cooling system had decided we were far too happy about the trip and ceased to cool resulting in the radiator or some hose associated with it going blewy. Given those options I would have preferred either of the first two. Rattlesnakes as we have learned from countless PBS documentaries are as afraid.
